Continuing a tradition started 12 years ago, the Orlando Gay Chorus is presenting their annual Uncut Cabaret in the Footlight Theater at the Parliament House in Orlando. The Uncut fundraiser was developed when the production team was spitballing ways to entertain the chorus members and raise a few extra dollars. What started as an event mostly attended by the members of the chorus, Uncut Cabaret has grown to become a community “must-see” event in Central Florida. In fact, we have had to add a second show on Sunday afternoons to accommodate the number of fans who want to see the racier side of the chorus!
The types of acts for Uncut range from titillating to silly to positively hair-raising! Our acts have included all colors of the rainbow from the LGBT community. And if you think our straight members can’t keep up with the zaniness, you are sorely mistaken! This event is not for the easily offended or the faint of heart, but that doesn’t stop the crowds from filling the theater and having a blast. This year’s show is being produced by our Artistic Director, James Rode, who has also been one of the best emcees the event has seen! The “Tops and Bottoms” fundraiser challenge always brings in the laughs and the money, as people compete for novelty baskets you CANNOT give to your mother! And we are all wondering which Broadway hit will be turned into a VERY naughty MadLib!
